About this Event
Staghorn Fern Mounting Workshop
Have you ever heard of a staghorn fern? With their unique antler-like fronds and fascinating growing habits, these tropical plants are anything but your average houseplant! Found growing naturally across four continents and with more than 18 species, staghorn ferns are some of the most popular and sought-after tropical ornamental plants—and they’re happiest growing off the ground.
Join us at the Plant Bar at Colonial Farms for a hands-on Staghorn Fern Mounting Workshop where you’ll learn how to transform your staghorn fern from a humble potted plant into a beautiful mounted display. We’ll walk you through the basics of staghorn fern care, how these incredible plants grow in nature, and the best techniques for mounting and caring for your fern at home.
We’ll provide everything you need, including your staghorn fern, mounting materials, and your choice of a cedar board or wood round. Just bring yourself, your creativity, and a willingness to get a little planty! And yes, we fully support naming your new fern—because every good plant deserves a personality.
Whether you’re a seasoned plant parent or just beginning your houseplant journey, this workshop is a fun way to learn something new, get hands-on with tropical plants, and take home a one-of-a-kind living creation.
