Sherwood Forest Churches open EventMany of our local churches contain fascinating glimpses into the history of Sherwood Forest and the legend of Robin Hood. On Saturday 13th and Saturday 19th September we have arranged a number of free special open events for Sherwood Forest churches. Each with its unique glimpse into the history of Sherwood Forest.
On Saturday 19th September you can visit St. Ed's Church Mansfield Woodhouse and see the grave slab of Major Hayman Rooke - father of Sherwood Forest. Local volunteers will be on hand to guide you to the spot and (hopefully) answer your questions. Close by the Church is the medieval market cross of Mansfield Woodhouse and round the corner you can see the home of the Wolf Hunter of Sherwood. Save the date Saturday 19th September 1pm - 4pm
