Join the Southern Sierra Miwuk Nation for our March for Federal Recognition on November 21st, 2026.For over 40 years, the Southern Sierra Miwuks have fought for federal recognition in the region encompassing Yosemite National Park and Mariposa County. We are calling for recognition and justice for the Southern Sierra Miwuk Nation.
The march will begin at the Mariposa County Courthouse, leaving promptly at 10:00 AM, and will continue to the main event at the Arts Park. Families, friends, and community members are all welcome to join us as we walk in solidarity.
At the Arts Park, enjoy Native art vendors, and visit booths to learn about our tribal programs and community work across Mariposa and Yosemite. There will also be tribal members sharing their voices and experiences in the fight for federal recognition.
