About this Event
The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Environmental Specialist Tommy Nordmann for a hike on the Overlook Trail at Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve and enjoy spectacular views of Spruce Creek. Along the way, we’ll discover the history of the Spruce Creek Mound and its significance to the people who once lived here.
** Important note: Please arrive ON TIME to complete a waiver prior to the start of the hike. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program. You may complete a waiver in advance by visiting Explore Volusia
** Some map apps and GPS devices will take you to the incorrect location. Use the following link to direct you to Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve, Martin's Dairy: Marked Location in Port Orange, FL United States - Apple Maps
ACTIVITY: This will be a moderate hike with a few short climbs in elevation.
RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, you are not registered.
TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.
AGES: Ages eight and up are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
ATTIRE: closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing for the outdoors

Our hike leader will let you know the condition of the trails prior to the start of the hike.
