Hear an inspirational message from Alex Sheen, founder of because I said I would, five-time TEDx speaker, author and nonprofit leader, in Springfield, Massachusetts, on November 14, 2026. A meet-and-greet and merchandise fundraiser follows, supporting grieving families at our 92-acre camp’s resiliency and mental health retreats. Every $1,500 is equivalent to sponsoring one family.Free private event for adults 18 and older. Space is very limited. The exact address is shared only with confirmed attendees. VOLUNTEER + ATTEND: Help set up and run the merchandise/meet-and-greet table, accept donations with a simple credit card machine, and pack up afterward. Each volunteer helps raise about $500. Volunteers may attend the speech, receive a free because I said I would T-shirt, and have parking fees reimbursed.
Volunteer schedule: 10:00–10:15 AM arrival; 10:15–10:30 AM locate boxes; 10:30–11:00 AM setup; 11:00 AM–12:00 PM speech; 12:00–12:30 PM merchandise table/meet-and-greet; 12:30–1:00 PM pack up; 1:00–1:15 PM take boxes to the UPS location.
GUEST OPTION (no volunteering): Arrive at 10:45 AM for the 11:00 AM–12:00 PM speech. All times are local Eastern time. Both ticket options are free.
