About this Event
Join the Friends of Stittsville Wetlands in the Spring 2026 Cleaning the Capital Campaign on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 10 AM – 2 PM.
Ottawa’s Cleaning the Capital Campaign happens each Spring and Fall, encouraging community participation in citywide cleanup efforts to keep Ottawa clean and green. The Friends of Stittsville Wetlands have registered for two cleanup projects in Stittsville to improve wetland health.
The first clean-up will start at the observation platform on the Trans Canada Trail, overlooking the headwaters of Poole Creek, and we will work east towards Westridge Drive. We will focus on the ditch areas (north and south sides) directly adjacent to the trail. The Trans Canada Trail clean-up will end at Westridge Drive.
The second clean-up will start at Stittsville Main Street and follow Poole Creek to Westridge Drive at Abbott Street West. The clean-up will focus on the trail and wooded areas adjacent to the creek.
