SpookyFUN Fest is Hanover County’s ultimate family-friendly Halloween celebration, bringing together festive activities, games, and plenty of not-too-spooky fun! Families can visit trick-or-treat booths hosted by community organizations, meet costumed characters and mascots, create themed crafts, join the candy hunt, pick out the perfect pumpkin, and enjoy a hayride through the not-so-haunted forest. Designed especially for children ages 2-10, this free event provides a safe and welcoming way for families to celebrate the Halloween season together! Costumes are encouraged but not required. Pro tips for SpookyFUN Fest:
✅ Don't forget a candy bag or bucket for the candy hunt and trick-or-treat stations
✅ All children must be accompanied by and under the direct supervision of an adult guardian at all times
✅ Pets welcome but must remain on-leash at all times
✅ The event is held entirely outdoors on grass surfaces - plan accordingly for changing evening temperatures and wear appropriate footwear
✅ A variety of food trucks will be available for concession purchases (outside food and drink are also permitted)
✅ A sensory-friendly area will be available with comfortable seating, headphones, sensory toys, and calming activities in case your little ones need a break from the excitement
✅ Plenty of free parking is available at each event location; just follow the directions of parking staff and be prepared for a short walk from the parking area to the event space
✅ Please help us keep our events enjoyable for all by refraining from tobacco use and disposing of all trash in an appropriate receptacle
