About the Artist
An authentic Skid Mark… is an incredibly glamorous woman with over 25 years of sewing experience. Rooted in sustainability and accessibility, there is no project too big, no material too messy or delicate that she can’t handle. That’s why she’s been sought out by drag queens, dance companies, theaters, brides, and folks who just want clothes that fit across the nation.
Amy Auerbach is a San Francisco–based artist, educator, and maker whose work explores the quiet afterlives of materials. Rooted in a practice of reuse, she transforms discarded textiles, camera film, and found materials into tactile objects and installations that carry memory, labor, and environmental impact. Her work often draws attention to what is typically overlooked—waste, excess, and the invisible systems behind everyday goods. Find her @auerstyle
