About this Event
An Evening and Open Space for Creativity and Connection
‘Experience becoming … find out what's inside you’
Facilitated by Fr. Timothy Armbruster
Looking for a safe space to share your creativity? Do you have a poem, short story, painting or a song you’d like to share? Join us Nov. 10 and/or Dec. 1 for Spoken Soul: An Evening and Open Space for Creativity and Connection.
What
A community of creative individuals eager to share and experience the artistic expressions of others.
Whatever your chosen medium — music, writing, painting, poetry, song — this a space you can read, display or sing it. All are welcome.
Why
We follow the advice of Kurt Vonnegut, who said, “Practice any art, music, singing, dancing, acting, drawing, painting, sculpting, poetry, fiction, essays, reportage, no matter how well or badly, not to get money and fame, but to experience becoming, to find out what's inside you, to make your soul grow."
Who
You and your friends. We’d like to build a community centered on creativity and expression.
When
Our next events are Nov. 10 and Dec. 1, but we want make this a regular occurrence at the Renewal Center.
Theme
The suggested theme for November 10 is “Gratitude & Reflection." For December 1, the suggested theme is "Wishful Hope." Bring anything to share from your heart.
More Details
There will be time for prayer, sharing our creative sacred stories, and a time for poets and artists to share how their faith and life experience inspires their art. We will also have refreshments and time for fellowship.
This is an in-person event.
“Whatever your work, do it from the heart, as for the Lord and not for others.”
