From the ashes of several death metal, kraut rock and synth bands, Floating was formed in Uppsala in 2021. Aiming to push the boundaries of what death metal can be, they have since released two albums. ”The Waves Have Teeth" in 2022 and "Hesitating Lights” in 2025. The band that Metal Hammer has called ”The Cure if they were a death metal band” is now bringing their distortion of death metal to Klubb Fredagsmangel.

From the basement of an old mental institution in Stockholm, Frusen Sorg – which translates to "Frozen Grief" – makes harrowing, cathartic, desperate and crusty d-beat with black metal influences. The lyrics deal with real-life trauma instead of mythological themes. Nothing can be as dark as life itself, so no need for fairytales. Or as they put it - secular exorcism.
