About this Event
What to Expect: Whether you're a seasoned puzzler or have never tried a puzzle, this event offers something for everyone. Come as a group or solo, and we can help pair you with a community table. Our events are a great way to connect with members of local communities and are perfect for folks arriving in Toronto looking to make new friends.
Begin by grabbing a delicious drink or nibble from the Twilight Café menu, then join a table. Each table will start with a brand-new 500 or 1000-piece Villager puzzle depending on their team size. There will be two heats running simultaneously: those competing in the 500-piece (2 players), and those in the 1000-piece (3 or 4 players).
Prizing: The winners of each heat will receive tickets to the next speed puzzle event at Twilight Cafe Midtown, giving them the chance to return and compete again for 1st place on April 15th.
: These uniquely designed puzzles are perfect for a cozy night with a pint. Each puzzle is a stunning piece of art designed by a Canadian female artist. With a matte finish, made from recycled premium paper board, each puzzle supports a women-owned business, which in turn supports women designers, who all work to make a positive impact locally. As seen on Dragons Den
General Admission Tickets: Admission includes access to the Twilight Cafe reserved second floor, an on-site game expert who can help you with introductions and organizing tables and a 500 or 1000-piece take-home puzzle for group bookings.
Tickets are priced and sold per person or for groups. Tables are available for:
- Groups of 2 Puzzlers (500-piece) - Great for a first date or catching up with a friend.
- Groups of 3 or 4 Puzzlers(1000-piece) - Perfect for a fun evening out as a larger group.
- Community - These tables are available for those looking to make new connections, both puzzling and the friendship kind! Join a group, and depending on registration, play as a group of 2 (500-piece) or 3/4 (1000-piece).
Pre-purchased seats will be held for attendees for the first 30 minutes of the event.
Membership & Passes: Changeling Gaming Memberships include event discounts for our paid subscribers. After just two events within a 30-day period, our members save, with the potential of over $80 per month! For this event, each Special Event Membership ticket purchased must have a single individual corresponding Patreon Special Events Membership Subscription. Or, a temporary Membership Pass may be presented with Special Event stamp slots available for each ticket purchased.
Proof of membership will be required at the door.
Food & Drink: Twilight Cafe’s menu blends cafe classics (coffee, brunch), Asian-inspired comfort meals (rice, noodles, dumplings), hearty snacks, sandwiches, and fun drinks (bubble tea & lattes) — making it a hybrid cafe + casual restaurant rather than just a coffee-only spot. They also offer a delicious menu of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and specialty drinks, including bubble teas to choose from.
There is no minimum spend, but we strongly encourage purchasing something as able to support the venue so we can keep returning for more game nights. The recommended minimum is $20 per person (~ one drink and one food item)from the Twilight Cafe Midtown menu.
: Twilight Café was founded with a simple yet meaningful vision—no matter if it’s day or night, people should always be able to connect and enjoy a good time together. Across their venues in Toronto & GTA, Twilight strives to offer high-quality coffee, brunch, and snacks, ensuring that anyone can come by, not only for games but also to study, coordinate meetups, and have a great food experience too.
: Changeling Gaming is a collective of game instructors who host both public and private game experiences in Toronto and together create game content for YouTube. Our mission is to help folks find the right games for their tables and to create safe, accessible, and welcoming spaces to play games and make new friends along the way.
Photography Disclaimer: Please note that photos and videos will be taken at the event for use on social media to show new members what our gatherings are like, and to also share on the Changeling Community Discord, so we can all look back on the fun moments gaming together. If you wish to remain off-camera, please let our team know once on-site so we can direct you to the photo-free tables.
