ONE NIGHT. ONE FULL HOUSE. $5,000 FOR LOCAL CANCER RESEARCH. ❤️On Friday 30 October, Ballarat National Theatre is turning one performance of Dead Man’s Cell Phone into a special Gala Night raising funds for the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute (FECRI).
This cause has become especially close to our hearts. During rehearsals, director Benj Beatty lost his mother-in-law to cancer.
This season is dedicated to her memory, and we wanted to turn one night of the show into something that could make a difference for others.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 for cancer research right here in Ballarat.
And we need your help to do it.
Come and fill the theatre, enjoy a wonderfully strange, funny and unexpectedly moving night out, and help support the extraordinary work happening at FECRI.
ABOUT THE PLAY
A stranger is dead.
His phone is ringing.
Jean really should leave it alone.
She really should.
But she answers it.
Sarah Ruhl’s Dead Man’s Cell Phone is an offbeat comedy about love, loss, connection and what happens when one impulsive decision draws you deep into the life of someone you never knew.
