Join us for an informative talk on constructing and planting rock gardens. Learn about the design and implementation of Brookside Gardens' new rock garden, and learn more about building your very own. Gardeners take great pride in their nutrient-rich, loamy, dark garden soil. However, some plants prefer — or even require — gritty, nutrient-poor or “lean” soil to thrive. Many plants from barrens, deserts, mountaintops, and bogs share this characteristic. In this talk, we’ll explore plants from these environments, and learn to create areas in our gardens to grow them.
