🪔 Dance into Diwali with Speaker Box Street Party at Wembley Park. Free, drop in, no booking needed.Expect a DJ, a roaming speaker and dancers who know how to get a crowd moving, with a soundtrack of Bollywood hits, bhangra, South Asian pop and disco.
💃 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀
No dance experience needed. The Speaker Box dancers teach the moves as the afternoon goes on, so you can pick up steps to Bollywood and bhangra tracks, then let loose to South Asian pop and disco.

Bring the kids, your friends or just yourself. Families, friends and solo dancers are all welcome. Drop in for ten minutes between market stalls or stay for the whole session.

Speaker Box Street Party is an inclusive, London-based global dance community that turns public spaces into dance floors. Founded by Simon Samaki, the group brings people together through street flash mobs, pop-ups, workshops and large-scale activations. Their events are designed so disabled and non-disabled people can dance together, whether standing, seated, supported or freestyle. Every body, every style, every story.
You may have danced with them at the UEFA Champions League Festival, RideLondon, the Great Exhibition Road Festival, Summer by the River at London Bridge or Greenwich Peninsula's Urban Village 10th anniversary. They've also worked with TEDx NHS, UNICEF Italia and Culture Within Newham, and this isn't their first party at Wembley Park.
🛍️ 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁
The Wembley Park Diwali Market is right next door on Market Square, Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 7pm. Browse more than 25 traders selling street food, Diwali sweets, homeware, jewellery, textiles and gifts. Free entry; food, drink and purchases are charged separately.
🥁 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘁
All free, at Retail Square, London Designer Outlet, a short walk from Market Square:
• Friday 6 November, 12–3pm: free henna in the Cube, to get the celebrations started.
• Sunday 8 November at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm: Dhol2Dhol, the Brent-based dhol school founded in 1999, bring the powerful rhythms of the double-headed Punjabi drum in ten-minute sets.
• Sunday 8 November at 2.15pm, 3.15pm and 4.15pm: Bollyqueer, the inclusive Bollywood dance company, perform 15-minute sets of Bollywood choreography with flashes of bhangra and garba. Watch or join in.
🎨 𝗗𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗶 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Got a creative streak? Make a Diwali-themed rangoli at home on a circle or square board up to 30cm across and enter our free competition, run with Hindu Council Brent.
