The Speakeasy Reading Club is a phone-free social reading night inside Analog Room in East Austin. Everyone brings their own book or reading material and reads quietly alongside other readers.
There is no assigned title or required discussion. This is a quieter alternative to a traditional book club. It's the simple pleasure of reading alone, with the gentle energy of other people doing the same thing nearby.
We begin by putting away our phones upon entry, choosing a chair and settling into the room with a drink or socialize with other attendeed. At 7:30PM we begin our hour of uninterrupted reading. After the hour attendees may choose to continue reading or socialize with others.
Your ticket includes:
• Two hours inside Analog Room
• Approximately 60 minutes of uninterrupted reading
• One house drink
• Phone storage throughout the evening
• An optional closing conversation
• Time to linger with other readers
Bring a novel, biography, collection of essays, poetry, history, graphic novel, or anything else you genuinely want to read.
Come alone. Or come with a friend.
