Spatial Audio Using Spacemap Go is a 2-day interactive workshop in developing understanding and knowledge in spatial audio using Spacemap Go, Meyer Sound’s spatial sound design and mixing tool. This training includes guiding principles in spatial audio; Spacemap Go operations and workflow; and spatial sound design and mixing.By the end of the training, participants will understand the guiding principles of spatial audio and system design; how to install a spatial audio system; how to apply workflow for installing, connecting, designing, and mixing using Spacemap Go; how to build Spacemaps and trajectories and trigger them with external control using OSC (Open Sound Control) and plug-ins; and they will explore various approaches in mixing spatial audio in a live production environment and installations.
This course is for people who want an introduction to spatial audio, have interest in using Meyer Sound’s Spacemap Go tool in live productions or events, and need to know how to design, use, and maintain these systems.
The registration fee includes training materials.
The workshop will be conducted in English.
Instructor:
Ianina Canalis
Application Architect, Spatial Audio Specialist
Ianina Canalis is an integral member of the development team for Spacemap Go, Meyer Sound’s spatial sound design and live mixing tool. Currently, she is product owner of Nebra, the AVB Milan connection manager and is involved in different software projects at Meyer Sound. Prior to joining Meyer Sound, Ianina held posts as a lecturer in live sound technology at universities in both her native Argentina and the United Kingdom. During this time, she continued to develop and demonstrate her own software for multichannel live sound production she calls ISSP –Immersive Sound System Panning –, which she used at several live events, some of them sponsored by SoundGirls, like sound:check Xpo 2019 in Mexico City and later that year at the AES convention in New York.
Ianina initially developed ISSP while earning her Master of Science in Audio Engineering from Leeds Beckett University. She finished a PhD in Science and Technology from the Universidad de Quilmes, Argentina in 2023 and she also holds dual bachelor’s degrees (Audiovisual Technology, Sound and Recording) from the Universidad Nacional de Lanús in Argentina, and she worked on tour as a sound engineer for more than 15 years.
Instructor:
Arve Gotfredsen
Technical Support Specialist, NorthEU
