📚 The Book Club is celebrating ONE YEAR!
And we're celebrating in a BIG way.
Join us for a special in-person book club gathering featuring Kyra Davis Lurie, author of The Great Mann.
After reading The Great Mann together, we'll gather for an afternoon of conversation, community, and an opportunity to hear directly from Kyra about the novel, its characters, the history that inspired the story, and the process of bringing it all to life.
Whether you've been reading with Sound & Light since the beginning or this will be your first time joining us, you're welcome to come celebrate with us!
📖 About the Book
The Great Mann takes readers into the glamour, ambition, creativity, and complexities of Black life during the Harlem Renaissance. Through a story shaped by art, history, relationships, and legacy, Kyra Davis Lurie explores the people behind the mythology of an extraordinary era.
We strongly encourage attendees to read the book before the event. This is a book club discussion, and we'll be talking about the full book, so expect spoilers!

This gathering also marks the one-year anniversary of Sown in Light Book Club.
For the past year, we've gathered around books for honest conversations, laughter, connection, and community. We're so excited to open this special meeting to new guests and celebrate our first year with an author conversation.
