About this Event
Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator (DVCAI) presents the first South Florida presentation of the nationally touring South Arts 2025 Southern Prize + State Fellowship Exhibition. Featuring nine State Fellows representing Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, the exhibition celebrates the breadth and excellence of contemporary artistic practice across the American South.
Southern Prize: Legacy and Innovation in Contemporary Southern Visual Art challenges narrow definitions of Southern art while exploring the relationship between inherited traditions and contemporary experience. Curated by Shannon Rae Lindsey, with Rosie Gordon-Wallace serving as DVCAI’s hosting curator, the Miami presentation places these works in dialogue with the Caribbean and Latin American diaspora, creating a setting for conversations about place, memory, identity, and cultural connection.
Exhibition dates: November 19, 2026 through February 27, 2027.
RSVP now and join us for an evening of art, dialogue, and celebration at DVCAI.
The opening coincides with Give Miami Day. Celebrate with us and support DVCAI’s continued stewardship of Caribbean and Latin American diaspora arts: https://mtyc.co/f2v02f
