Join us for the South West Art Teachers' Conference 2026, a highly creative and fully interactive day designed for art and design educators working across primary, secondary, specialist and alternative provision settings.
This year, we are taking a different approach. The conference will be centred entirely around a vibrant programme of hands-on practical workshops, led by experienced artists, makers and practising teachers. Whether you are looking to refresh familiar techniques, explore new processes or gain inspiration for your curriculum, there will be something for everyone to take away and implement immediately in their own classroom.
Throughout the day, delegates will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a range of creative workshops that celebrate experimentation, skill development and the sharing of professional expertise. Our workshop leaders will showcase successful projects, innovative teaching approaches and practical techniques that have had real impact with young people across a variety of educational settings.
In addition to the workshop programme, delegates will have the opportunity to view the CODEX Exhibition, a growing collaborative project inspired by the work of Bob and Roberta Smith and developed in partnership with Sidmouth School of Art. Since its launch last year, CODEX has expanded significantly, bringing together artwork from schools across the South West and beyond, providing a powerful platform for young people to share their voices, ideas and experiences through creativity.
The South West Art Teachers' Conference continues to be a valuable opportunity to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas, celebrate excellent practice and strengthen creative networks across the region. Whether you are new to teaching art and design or an experienced practitioner, you will leave with practical strategies, new inspiration and a renewed enthusiasm for creative education.
Please note that delegate numbers are limited this year due to venue capacity. Early booking is strongly recommended to secure your place.
