About this Event

Our CSSI Champions Workshop is coming to the South East! Members of the public are being invited to take part in a free, practical Citizen Science Water Quality Monitoring event on Saturday, 21st November from 10:00am-12:30pm at the Wexford County Council Building, Newtown Road, Carricklawn, Wexford, Y35 WY93.

The event is aimed at anyone with an interest in their local rivers, streams, lakes and other waterbodies, including Tidy Towns groups, anglers, farmers, environmental and biodiversity groups, community organisations, and interested members of the public.

Organised by the River Basin Management Service, the event will introduce participants to citizen science and demonstrate how members of the public and community groups can play an active role in monitoring the health of local waterbodies.

Participants will learn about a simple kick-sampling method for investigating the small aquatic creatures that live in rivers and streams. They will also be introduced to the River Basin Management Service's CSSI App, which allows participants to record their findings and contribute information on waterbodies that may not otherwise be routinely monitored.

This is a regional event and we welcome all groups from the South East.

Registration is essential.
