South Chicago People's Park Planting & Beautification Day

The South Chicago People's Park is located at the corner of E 91st St & S Buffalo Ave. After sitting vacant for more than 25 years after a terrible semi-trailer accident, People's Park was established in 1997 after community volunteers came together to reclaim the space. Today, People's Park is a space for everyone to enjoy. With more than 175 shrubs, plants, and trees, a lighted performance stage and patio, and a mosaic tile mural created by local youth. The park hosts several events throughout the year, and remains a vital gaterhing space for the South Chicago community.
