Step back into the 1960s, an era that redefined visual expression, with this stunning collection of psychedelic posters from legendary venues in San Francisco’s South Bay. Join authors Brian Conroy and Bill Guardino as they discuss their book, South Bay Flashback, a kaleidoscopic journey through the revolutionary art that captured the spirit of freedom, rebellion, and creativity from the Bay Area's rock 'n' roll scene.
Bill Guardino attended his first rock concert at the early age of 14. He has been accumulating rock memorabilia for over 55 years. His collection includes a massive trove of vinyl LPs, 45s, and 78s, as well as posters, handbills, autographed photos, musical instruments, concert t-shirts, comic books, magazines, collectible toys, and much more. He still attends as many concerts as possible, especially his beloved Dead and Company. South Bay Flashback is his first book.
Brian Conroy is the author of eight books including Shooting Stars and Blazing Guitars and I’m Just Sayin'. For thirty-five years he taught theater and public speaking in San Jose public schools and storytelling at San José State University. He wrote and directed the rock-themed musicals Hip Van Winkle, Revenge of the Flower Children, and
Rock and Roll Must Die.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
