About this Event
This year’s keynote address will be delivered by the Honourable Arif Virani, P.C., K.C., Senior Counsel at Torys LLP and former Minister of Justice and Attorney General. Mr. Virani's career has spanned litigation, public policy and government leadership.
The Gala will also recognize South Asian lawyers who have excelled in their fields and serve as role models within the profession. Guests can look forward to thoughtful remarks, vibrant performances, great food and time to connect with lawyers, judges, students and community leaders. Last year’s Gala brought together more than 250 attendees from across Alberta.
Founded in 2019, SABA Calgary supports the professional growth and mentorship of South Asian lawyers. It also works with the broader legal community to identify and address barriers faced by underrepresented groups in the profession. The Gala is a chance to celebrate that community and the people helping it grow.
