SOURDOUGH BAGEL CLASS
Brunch every Sunday! Learn to make bagels from scratch.
Join Baked@number17 for a handson workshop where you'll learn the secrets to the perfect chewy bagel. We use the sourdough process for texture and digestibility, but don't worry—these bagels are not sour! They have a beautiful, mild, and creamy flavor.
What you'll learn:
- Levain & Maintenance: We will talk about the sourdough starter used for sweet/mild baking and how to maintain it
- Hand-Kneading: We will knead the dough by hand. This is a dense, low-hydration dough, expect some muscle work to build that essential bagel strength!
- Shaping: We will master the bagel shaping technique and then "punch the hole"—the most satisfying part!
- Toppings & Baking: We will have fun with different toppings before hard-boiling, baking, and tasting our fresh bagels together.
You'll take home:
- Bagels ready to bake ( and eat!) at home.
- Sourdough starter if you need it.
This class is perfect for those with some sourdough experience who want to expand their skills, or beginners looking for a fun, physical introduction to baking.

This class requires a minimum of two participants to go ahead. In the unlikely event that the minimum is not met, you will be offered a full refund or a seat in a future class.
