Join us for an introductory sourdough baking workshop in Lafayette on Sunday, December 6th from 2:00-4:45pm! WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
The science behind sourdough - fermentation, gluten development, and what makes naturally leavened bread work.
How to work with your dough - from mixing and fermentation to handling, building strength, and shaping.
How to bake better bread - understand the keys to a beautiful rise, open crumb, and deep flavor.
WHAT YOU'll EXPERIENCE
A live, active sourdough starter - see what a healthy, peak starter looks and behaves like.
The transformation of your dough - feel how it changes as you develop strength through handling and fermentation.
Fully fermented dough - learn to recognize the visual and tactile cues that signal the end of bulk fermentation
WHAT YOU'LL LEAVE WITH
A healthy, active starter - plus the knowledge and confidence to keep it thriving at home.
Your own dough to bake - take home a shaped sourdough boule, ready for its final cold proof and bake.
A foundation for baking beyond the boule - learn how the same sourdough principles translate to pizza, focaccia, baguettes, and more.
