About this Event
You know the song. But do you know where it came from?
Welcome to SOURCE MATERIAL: A Live Music Sampling Game — a listening party built for the people who know music, love music and are absolutely convinced they know more music than everybody else in the room.
Think Family Feud meets a listening party.
The DJ drops an original song — the source material — and your job is to identify the songs that sampled it.
You might recognize it immediately. You might know the artist but not the song. You might hear three seconds and start yelling the answer before anyone else gets it.
That’s the game.
We’ll move through generations, genres and some of the samples hiding inside songs you’ve been listening to for years. Come ready to listen, guess, debate your friends and discover just how connected music really is.

You don’t have to be a music expert. You just need to love good music and be willing to play.
Bring the friend who always says, “You know they sampled that from…”
The question is: can they prove it?
