As Autumn turns to Winter the starling murmuration's are a wildlife spectacular not to be missed at Newport Wetlands. This event will start with a hearty serving of locally-made soup from our Café and a presentation to help unravel some of the mysteries of the murmuration's. Then, we will head on onto the reserve with our knowledgeable guides and show you the best places to see the murmuration's for yourselves.As well as the fabulous starlings show we very often see raptors such as marsh harriers or sparrowhawks on the hunt as the sun sets over the reedbeds. Of course we cannot guarantee the starlings will be there but it is unusual in November and December not to see any murmuration's at Newport Wetlands. Please arrive promptly 10 minutes before the event is due to start to check in at the visitor centre. Tickets are limited on these events so we advise to book your place as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. These events will go ahead in most weather conditions as rain and wind won't stop the starlings!
