About this Event

Expand Your Sound Practice Online

This is a four-week live course for sound practitioners who want to create their own music, guided meditations and soundscapes using Ableton Live.

You will learn the foundations of recording and producing inside Ableton in a practical way that can be applied directly to your work with clients.

We will cover how to record your voice, crystal bowls and other instruments. You will learn how to build loops, layer sound, edit recordings and create a complete meditation or soundscape from beginning to end.

You will also learn how to create personalized audio for your clients. This could include guided meditations, nervous system practices, sound journeys or recordings they can use between sessions.

Because the course is designed for practitioners working both online and in person, we will also cover the foundations of using Zoom with Ableton. You will learn how to route your audio properly and make sure your voice and instruments come through clearly during virtual sessions.

Each class is live and hands-on. I will teach directly inside Ableton and guide you through the process step by step.

By the end of the course, you will have created your own recorded meditation or soundscape. You will also understand how to use Ableton for your sessions, client resources and personal creative practice.

This course is designed for beginners. No production experience is required.

1:1 guidance is offered during the course.

Ableton Live free month trial is available.

Dates: Thursdays, November 5, 12, 19 and December 3, 2026
7:00–8:30 p.m. PST

Week 1: Ableton and Online Session Foundations

We will cover the basic Ableton layout and create a simple recording setup using your microphone and audio interface.

We will also go over the essential Zoom settings for sharing high-quality audio with virtual clients.

You will begin recording your voice or instruments during the first class.

Week 2: Creating Guided Meditations

You will learn how to record and edit your voice inside Ableton.

We will explore how to add bowls, music and atmospheric sounds underneath a guided meditation.

You will begin creating an audio practice that you can use with your clients.

Week 3: Building Music and Soundscapes

You will learn how to create loops and layer your voice, bowls and instruments.

We will work with reverb, delay and EQ to help your recordings sound clear, spacious and balanced.

We will also explore flow, transitions and how to build a soundscape that develops over time.

Week 4: Completing and Sharing Your Work

You will finish your guided meditation or soundscape from beginning to end.

We will review structure, final adjustments and how to export your recording.

You will leave with a completed piece that you can share with clients, use between sessions or incorporate into your own practice.
