SOUND HEALING IS BLACK AFListening Room 001: POURING OR OVERFLOWING?
You’re invited to experience the very first Sound Healing Is Black AF listening room.
Created for and by Black Queers, Sound Healing Is Black AF is a space for curiosity, connection, and healing through sound, drawing from the sounds that have shaped us, the sounds moving through us now, and the sounds that might carry us forward.
WHAT TO EXPECT
• An intimate Hi-Fi listening session - limited to 16 guests, with a listening setup designed specifically for this experience.
• A story told entirely through sound - a fictional tale that unfolds through Dunia Shawty’s live Afro-ambient performance.
• The Sound Cleanse Altar - a sound art installation and sculpture for deep listening, reflection, and release.
• A shared listening experience - come curious and experience the story in whatever way it meets you.
• A community gathering afterward - the room opens up for Niyah West to hold us with an gentle set, drinks, conversation, and connection.
This is Listening Room 001. The first room. The beginning of something we’re building.
COMMUNITY NOTE
This is an intentionally Black queer-centered space, making room for Black queer people to listen, connect, be curious, and simply exist together.
If you don’t identify as Black and queer, this particular space isn’t for you ??
