About Mike Meares
Stylistically, Mike Meares has spent decades blending his favorite schools of painting, borrowing from surrealism, cubism, abstract and expressionism, creating uniquely dynamic paintings.
Meares grew up in the fields and backyards of a small central Illinois farm town. He found a bit of his wings in the incubator of a southern Illinois college town, and spread those wings on a life-altering journey across the west in his 20’s that lead him to moving to San Francisco. His experience there shaped him has an artist, a creative, and as a man. Mike Meares found his way back to the Midwest, as Midwestern folk often do, and has called Indianapolis home for just over seven years.
