Work/life getting to you? Come rant, talk, pray and work through it with fellow Christians. We’re better walking through it together.
About this Event

About SoulWork

Fed up with work? Frustrated with your manager, colleagues, customers, workplace culture, office politics, gossip or simply the system? Carrying anger you haven't had anywhere to release? Trying to make a difficult career or work decision? Wondering whether to stay, leave, speak up, keep quiet, push harder or simply endure?

Or perhaps work is going well, but somewhere between earning a living, building a career, meeting expectations, dealing with people and trying to succeed, you're asking: Am I still following Christ in all of this?

SoulWork is a monthly gathering for Christians to talk honestly about the realities of working life. We meet on the first Monday of every month to talk, rant, vent, pray, reflect and work through the way forward together.

Because work doesn't happen separately from the rest of life. What we're carrying personally can affect how we show up at work, and what happens at work can follow us home. Sometimes the thing we need to talk about goes deeper than the job itself.

We listen to one another, encourage one another, challenge each other in love, share wisdom, pray, retrace lost steps and remind one another who we are and Whose we are.

Sometimes we need practical advice. Sometimes we need to get things off our chest. Sometimes we need someone to challenge our thinking. Sometimes we need to stop and examine what's really going on within us. And sometimes we simply need fellow Christians to remind us: Don't lose Christ in the middle of all this.

We're not gathering because we've figured out the Christian life. We're gathering because we haven't. And we don't want to lose Christ while trying to make it through life and work.

We also want to grow. To do better. To be excellent at what we do. To face difficult situations well, make wiser decisions and pursue the things before us without allowing success, disappointment, ambition, pressure or other people's expectations to take the place that belongs to God.

Whatever the pressure, whatever the opportunity, whatever the disappointment, whatever the cost: We choose God, no matter what.

SoulWork welcomes Christians from across traditions and denominations. Come as you are, bring the richness of your faith, and let's encourage one another as we seek to follow Christ faithfully through the realities of working life.

What to expect

A relaxed, facilitated conversation where we can talk about what's happening in our working lives and the things affecting how we live them.

We'll have time for chitchat, rant, reflection, prayer and working out the way forward together.

There are no presentations, and you don't need to prepare anything. Share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. There is no pressure to speak. You're equally welcome to listen and reflect privately.

Light refreshments will be available throughout the gathering, so feel free to help yourself at any time. You're also welcome to bring snacks or something to share with others.

Attendance is limited to 15 people to keep the gathering small enough for genuine conversation.

SoulWork meets on the first Monday of every month.
