Join us for a six-week creative writing journey designed to help you reconnect with your imagination, discover your unique voice and find inspiration in the world around you.
Together, we’ll explore storytelling, place, meaningful objects, memories and ancestral stories, looking at how our experiences, heritage, myths and everyday moments can become powerful sources of creativity.
Each week begins with a guided meditation and inspiring readings, followed by relaxed writing exercises to help your ideas flow. You’ll have the freedom to explore whatever form of writing speaks to you; poetry, fiction, personal stories, prose, performance writing or songwriting.
You don’t need to consider yourself a “writer” to join. This is a welcoming space for anyone who feels there may be a story, poem, song or creative voice inside them waiting to come out.
Over the six weeks, you’ll be supported to build confidence, develop a regular writing practice and create your own collection of work.
The journey finishes with an optional community sharing evening, where you can celebrate what you’ve created alongside family, friends and fellow participants.

About Shivaun
Shivaun has a special interest in life history writing, research and practice. She has conducted writing residences in hospices, prisons and community centres in the past. She is a published author and her works include Home Fires (Atlantic Books, 2002) and Holocaust Legacy in Post-Soviet Lithuania (Bloomsbury, 2016).
In 2018, she led a 6-week workshop titled Beyond The Family Tree: Writing, Curating and Presenting Your Family’s Past, organised and hosted by The Keep Archive Centre. She wrote and narrated the award-winning documentary Surviving History: Portraits from Vilna (2009) and is co-writer of the film Beautiful Bandit, currently in development with Sankara Pictures.
