Soul Siren Playhouse Presents "The Niceties" by Eleanor Burgess at The Grandel Theater October 15 - 18, 2026 for 5 Performances Only! An exhilarating intellectual thriller set at a prestigious Northeastern university, The Niceties centers on an unapologetic sparring of wits between Zoe, a college student, and Janine, her tenured history professor. At the center of their debate is Zoe’s thesis: that the American Revolution could not have succeeded without slavery in America.
What begins as an academic disagreement over American history quickly explodes into questions of race, privilege, power, and who gets to decide what qualifies as truth, leaving both to reconcile the consequences and find a way forward.
Starring Raevyn Ferguson as Zoe and Jodi Stockton as Janine. Tickets $30 GA with pairs of 2 for $50. Student/Educator and Senior discounts tickets for $15. Tickets available via Metrotix.
