OUR GUEST DJ's are Mick Lloyd...who started DJing in the late 70s when home on leave from the Navy in Worcester attending most of the niters & dayers of that time. In the ate 80s he joined the Modrapheniacs Scooter Club and that led to him becoming their club Soul DJ which in turn led to numerous and varied bookings on The Scooter Scene including Tenby and Woolacombe 2 of his favourite rallies.
The 90s & 00ts Saw him playing his fantastic soul tunes, as resident DJ at Exeter Soul Club at the Rougemont Hotel, then Exeter University.
Twice before Mick has played at our wonderful Grand Atlantic alongside John Drake and Ken Dunn, before reluctantly giving it up as it became unsustainable, Mick says “I really loved that venue”, and I completely agree, it is iconic, which is why Ian and I chose it to hold our events in, watch this space, when the refurb is done, we will be heading back, and I am pretty sure the reopening night will be something very special!
Mick says “These days l’m very happy when asked to play out”, and we are so happy to have him joining us on The Pier. Mick's vinyl collection is incredible, and he will be wowing you all! He likes to play all genres to keep everyone happy, and the floor full!
He also added “my favourite gigs over the years have been all the IOW venues, Bridgwater and Farnborough in the South.
Also joining us is Trowbridge Matt! He has been DJing since the early 80's on the Northern Soul Scene. Mostly in the south west, south coast , London and Wales.
