SONG SILENCED is a film that explores a largely overlooked chapter of Christian music history: what happened when successful Christian recording artists came out, and how an industry that had once celebrated them responded. Alongside those stories, SONG SILENCED looks at a newer generation of openly LGBTQ+ musicians of faith finding audiences outside the traditional Christian music establishment and creating space for queer voices within faith-based music.In addition to the film screening, the filmmaker, Ry Levey, will be present at the event.
