In Something Like Happiness, Newlands once again explores the nature of human relationships with his signature wit and clarity. The novel follows a pair of highschool sweethearts, Frazer and Caitlin, as they navigate adulthood, parenthood and pervasive poverty. Caitlin longs for small comforts, new curtains and clean walls, while Frazer is content with the familiarity his childhood home provides. As the tensions in their relationship rise, can affection be enough to withstand them?
