Hong Kong cinema comes to Perth for a special screening at The Backlot.About this Event
Join us for an exclusive Perth screening of SOMEONE LIKE ME, a moving and refreshingly honest story about independence, intimacy and learning to embrace life on your own terms.
Living with cerebral palsy, a young woman has spent much of her life navigating the expectations and limitations placed upon her by others. When she encounters a specialised organisation supporting people with disability, a new world begins to open up—one that challenges her perceptions of relationships, sexuality and, most importantly, herself.
Tender, thought-provoking and at times confronting, SOMEONE LIKE ME explores the universal desire for connection, autonomy and acceptance, while offering audiences a perspective rarely given space on the big screen.
A special opportunity to experience contemporary Hong Kong cinema right here in Perth.
