Some Woman for One Woman is Danielle Mynes’ tome to heal the world through her unique poetic storytelling, feminist musings, and her activism. The title of the book plays on an Irish saying, typically used by Irish people to describe an extraordinary woman of great skill and practicality, often with little or no support or resources available to her at all.
Proceeds of the sold artwork and book will support the charity Freeda and Leadhers, a youth based NPO empowering the next generation of leaders to rise.
Danielle believes that all women are extraordinary and are some woman for one woman, that her story must be felt, told, passed on and down. For too long women's accomplishments, reality, voice, lived experience, and truth have been erased, dismissed, or ignored.
Taking readers on an emotional journey, she explores motherhood, her Irish heritage, emigration, female desire, patriarchy, the spirituality of the sea, and relationships with a big old slice of reality and hard-hitting Irish wit. Her poems are gut-wrenchingly funny, but also dark, uncomfortable, moving and relatable. Her poetry calls for collective unity, allyship, unconditional love, education, and change, to ensure each one of us lives safely without fear or violence, in a world where we all can rise together.
The book also includes Danielle’s influences, feminist musings, and activities. Every poem is beautifully illustrated by Jersey-based visual artist Jacque Rutter, whose work adorns the second half of the book in The Mistress pieces Section. The paintings powerfully illuminate Danielle’s words through abstract visual art and speak to the stories and emotions women and girls carry.
Danielle believes we all either are or know some woman for one woman, let’s celebrate her and listen to her story.

Her work draws on her Irish heritage, the lived experiences of women, and the power of unity and allyship to end gender-based violence. She writes with honesty, rawness, and authenticity about motherhood, relationships, emigration, and the barriers and violence women and girls continue to endure. Her poems are rooted in truth, resilience, and the complexities of women’s lived experiences.
