What if your physical practice wasn't an effort to stretch, fix, or force your form into a standardized shape, but an invitation to inhabit the living, sacred field of your own body?In nondual Śākta-Śaiva Tantra, we do not view the physical body (Annamaya Kośa) as a heavy, dense object that needs to be disciplined, pushed, or transcended. Instead, the body is recognized as Citi itself: Divine Consciousness expressing itself as tangible sensation, breath, and form. Physical practice in this tradition is never a rehearsal for an external ideal. It is a portal into direct self-recognition (Pratyabhijñā), where every tissue, bone, and felt boundary becomes a sacred playground of awareness.
In Somatic Yin, we drop the demand for rigid alignment and enter each posture as an internal landscape. While the room may begin in a shared foundational shape, how that posture comes alive is entirely unique to your body. Supported by props, guided by the rhythm of your breath, and listening to your own subtle anatomy, your form finds its own authentic expression.
Using gentle micro-movements, we explore the subtle edges of physical sensation. There is nothing here to conquer, fix, or force your way through. By pairing long, supported holds with somatic interoception, we signal safety directly to the nervous system (Polyvagal Theory), allowing deep fascial bracing held in the connective tissue to unwind organically. We meet our boundaries not with striving, but with breath, presence, and nonjudgmental curiosity.
🌿 What to Expect in Class:
The Body as a Sacred Playground: Approaching postures as fluid, internal fields of exploration rather than rigid, aesthetic shapes.
Autonomous Expression: Utilizing props, breath cues, and spatial support so the practice honors your body's unique structural wisdom in every moment.
Micro-Movement & Edge Sensing: Using subtle, micro-adjustments to linger at the boundary of tension without triggering fight-or-flight.
Somatic & Autonomic Release: Unwinding deep-seated fascial bracing to restore vagal tone and rest effortlessly as the quiet witness (Sakṣin).
