Somewhere between a choir, a jam and a bandaoke sesh. No performing, no prep - just turn up, let loose and have a blast!
About this Event

There's a 90% chance you've forgotten how good it feels to sing with a room full of strangers. This is where you remember.

"Came into work and everyone asked if I had fallen in love" - Alex (attendee)

For most of human history, singing wasn't a talent - it was a daily habit. Work songs, ritual songs, party songs. Everyone sang, badly or beautifully, because that was never the point. Then singing got professionalised, and the rest of us got quietly reclassified as "non-singers" and handed a seat in the audience.

We think that's a loss worth reversing. Not through another choir with auditions and rehearsal commitments - just a room, a live band, a selection of well-known bangers and permission to make noise together again. No end goal. No 'product'. Just a desire to bring the party back to singing again (and yes, soaking in all the wellbeing benefits too).

Expect goosebumps. Expect a stranger harmonising next to you like you've sung together for years. Expect to leave lighter than you arrived.

So, what actually happens?

Singing Paries are participatory live music experiences led by George Montagu (Full Joy) and Alfie Jones (Sanctuary Singing Circles) where everyone in the room is the music. Backed by a genuinely brilliant live house band, we'll blast out well-known pop bangers one minute, improvise new co-creations the next, with a healthy smattering of jamming out to the band and rolling around on the floor making silly noises...

Think part bandoake, part choir rehearsal, part jam, part collaborative gig.

No experience. No audition. No music-reading. No prep. Just turn up and have fun.

Across the day:

  • ✨ Playful vocal warm-ups and connection games
  • ✨ Epic arrangements of well-known pop bangers
  • ✨ Simple songs and harmonies, taught by ear
  • ✨ Huge collective singing moments
  • ✨ Opportunities to freestyle
  • ✨ Soulful live band energy
  • ✨ Quiet moments to land and breathe

This is for you if you're:
  • A shower singer, or a let-it-rip singer
  • Singing-curious
  • Someone who sings in the car but goes quiet the second someone else gets in
  • A recovering choir kid who misses singing, not the politics
  • Someone who wants to sing for fun, minus the commitment of a choir
  • New to the city and looking for a way in
  • Craving connection, community, or some new friends

💛 "It was so lovely. I felt very open and joyful afterwards, thank you!" - Vimoksamati

💛 "Such a beautiful way to celebrate Solstice. A warm, kind crowd of humans singing uplifting songs together is always such medicine for the soul." - Ellie
