You want to meet people. You just don't have anyone to come with, and turning up somewhere on your own is the part that stops you.
That is the entire reason this exists. Everyone in the room came alone. Nobody is a plus-one. Nobody is standing in a closed circle with their friends. Nobody is going to ask why you came by yourself. Arriving alone is the normal way to arrive.
HOW THE EVENING GOES
6:00 - You arrive and somebody walks you to a seat. No hovering in the doorway holding your coat.
6:15 - We start with something easy, so nobody has to invent small talk from nothing.
6:30 - Conversation cards on the table. Use them or ignore them. They are there for when a conversation runs out.
7:15 - We move people around once, so you are not stuck with the same three people for two hours.
8:00 - We finish. Some people go home, some stay for another drink, nobody makes a thing of it.
WHO COMES
People who moved here recently. People who work from home and have realised they have not spoken out loud since Friday. People whose friends got married, had children or moved away. People who are perfectly happy and would simply like more people in their life.
You do not need to be outgoing. You do not need a story. You need to turn up.
WHAT IT COSTS
$15, and $5 of that comes straight back to you as credit to spend at the cafe that evening. So it is really $10 for a table, a host, and a room full of people who also came alone.
WHY MONDAY
Because Monday is the loneliest night of the week and nothing is ever on.
