About this Event

Solo Spirits is a special gathering for women aged 45+ navigating life solo who feel drawn to creativity, spirituality, nature and a little everyday magic.

This gathering falls on the evening of the Hunter’s Moon and offers an opportunity to recognize what has completed its purpose and release what we no longer wish to carry.

A portrait of the woman you have become

Your ticket includes a personal portrait delivered digitally after the gathering.

An opportunity to be visible on your own terms. If you usually tone yourself down, feel free to adorn yourself in whatever feels like you, velvet, lace, meaningful jewellery, autumn colours or something wonderfully unexpected. Everyday clothes are equally welcome. There is no costume requirement and no particular belief you need to share.

Our photographer will spend a few moments creating an individual portrait of each guest within the autumn landscape (weather permitting). It is about capturing presence, character and the woman you are now. Due to event constraints, the photo you receive will be chosen by the photographer and sent to you digitally one week after the event.

Having your photograph taken is optional. Before photography begins, you’ll choose whether your image is private and delivered only to you or may also be considered for Solo Life Canada’s website, social media and promotional materials. Declining promotional use will not affect your portrait experience.

The afternoon will begin with a Hunter’s Moon release ritual.

This is a moment to honour what has shaped you, recognize what has reached its natural ending and release what you no longer wish to carry.

Then, through a guided creative experience, we'll will share craft materials and make our own framed personal oracle card from images, words and symbols. This will help crystalize something already within you that you want to honour and carry forward: your resilience, intuition, independence, courage, protective spirit or hard-earned wisdom.

No artistic experience is needed, and all essential materials will be provided. You may also bring meaningful pieces to incorporate - or work on a craft of your own.

Talk about the things that matter when you’re solo

As we create, we’ll make room for conversation about living independently.

What do you love about having a life of your own? What would you like more of? Who could you turn to if life took an unexpected turn? How do we build meaningful support while protecting the freedom we value?

This is a chance to exchange experiences, spark ideas and consider what joining forces with other solo women could look like. You can share, listen, or quietly work on your creation. There’s no pressure to disclose anything personal.

Before leaving, you’ll receive a small lunar keepsake to take home and open at the next new moon, when the time comes to consider what you are ready to begin nurturing.

Small treasures and shared possibilities

Our craft-sharing table will include a simple transformation exchange: a place where something one woman has finished with can become meaningful material in another woman’s creation.

If you wish, bring meaningful craft items (nothing from the Dollar Store please) that you are genuinely happy to relinquish; perhaps unique beads, charms, buttons, pieces of lace, dried flowers, ribbons, vintage paper or other tiny treasures that you think others might enjoy.

Place your offerings on the sharing table for someone else to discover and, perhaps, incorporate into her talisman. In return, you may find little whimseys contributed by another woman that speaks to you.

Please bring only something you can give freely, without needing to know who chooses it or what it becomes. Bringing an item is entirely optional, and core creative materials will be provided. At the end of the evening, we will divvy up the remainding materials.

A separate Curiosity Table will offer vintage treasures, unusual objects and intriguing little finds because who doesn't love a bit of thrifting? These items will be available to purchase.

The gathering will follow the shape described here, with room left for intuition, inspiration and a little unexpected magic. Additional seasonal practices, creative offerings or thoughtful surprises may find their way into the circle before we meet. This event is limited to 17 solo women.
