Instructor and scar tissue expert, Cathy Ryan, takes you through the science of scar tissue formation and the impact of manual therapy on scar tissue.Scar tissue puts us back together after injury, surgery etc. Scars don't have to be problematic, but if the mechanisms that form scars go awry, the results can be painful and debilitating. What is going on in there and what can our hands do about it?
In this class, we will answer those questions. We will explore the process of wound healing and scar formation and dive into how massage therapy can influence better healing outcomes and facilitate productive changes after scars have formed.
Science/evidence is Cathy's jam, so there will be science …. and a healthy dose of heart, humour and hands on!
This course is designed for massage therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists and any healthcare provider who uses manual therapy in their practice.
