Join us in this hands-on, 2 hour cake decorating class. Perfect for our younger cake decorators (recommended age 6 to 12) who are interested in all things cake. This class guides kids through every step of the decorating process—from smoothly frosting our base to crafting Rudolph's iconic features out of fondant and piping a festive mane.
Class Participation Breakdown:
Students will work on their own cake throughout the class, guided by step-by-step teacher demonstrations.
What Your Child Will Learn:
- Working with Fondant: Learn how to roll, cut, and shape fondant to create Rudolph’s ears, eyes, and signature red nose.
- Smooth Buttercream Coverage: Understand the basics of using an offset spatula and icing smoother to get a clean, fully covered base coat.
- Master Festive Piping: Learn how to alternate between different piping techniques to create a beautiful, multi-toned mane.
Class Schedule Highlights:
- Introduction (15 mins): Welcome, instructor introduction, and access to snacks and beverages.
- Fondant Features (30 mins): Students will learn to roll and sculpt fondant to assemble the inner and outer ears, shape the tapered eyes, and roll the perfect red nose.
- Break (10 mins): Leg stretch and beverage refills at the refreshment station
- Covering the Cake (30 mins): Students practice smoothing light brown buttercream over the top and sides of their cake for an even finish.
- Piping the Mane (30 mins): Time to get creative! Students alternate piping tips to build a dark brown, light brown, and white rosette mane.
- Assembly & Accents (15 mins): Add the finishing touches by placing the ears, golden antler picks, eyes, nose, and a sprinkle of gold dragees.
- Pictures & Pack Up (5 mins): Students can take photos at our holiday photo stations and have their reindeer cakes boxed on their way out.
Amenities Included:
- Refreshments: Access to a snack counter including house-made non-alcoholic drinks, charcuterie and fruit skewers, a dessert, and a Keurig coffee station.
- Tools & Equipment: Class aprons, and all necessary tools needed to prepare this item in class.
- Take Home Dessert: Each student will go home with the item prepared in class.
Special Notes & Recommendations:
- Refund Policy: Tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE! If you are unable to attend the class, you may transfer the ticket to another person. Tickets are not transferable to another class.
- Access To Studio & Snacks: Doors will open 15 minutes before listed class start time. At this time students will have access to snack and beverage counter.
- Planning on Sitting Together? Seating is first-come, first-served. If you are attending with a group or wish to sit together, we highly recommend arriving right when doors open. While we do our best to accommodate everyone, we cannot guarantee group seating, even if tickets were purchased together.
- Adult Supervision: Every child must be accompanied by an adult. Each ticket includes a seat for one child and one adult (one cake to decorate).
- Recommended Age: This class is recommended for children ages 6-12.
- Staining of Clothes: The colored frosting may stain clothes so although we provide aprons, we suggest dressing your child appropriately.
