We’re teaming up with Landfall Foundation to give away 500 FREE native trees! Each household may take home up to two trees—first come, first served. 🌳To prioritize communities with some of Wilmington’s greatest need for additional tree canopy, tree pickup from 9–10AM is reserved for residents of downtown, Northside, and Southside. The giveaway opens to the general public at 10AM.
Join us at D.C. Virgo Preparatory Academy (813 Nixon Street) to choose from a climate-ready lineup of native species, including:
- Red mulberry
- Persimmon
- Sourwood
- Eastern redbud
- Pawpaw
- American plum
- Chickasaw plum
- Red buckeye
- Winterberry holly
- Southern wax myrtle
You can learn more about the trees on our website: acftrees.org/giveaways.
Need help picking the right tree for your yard? No worries! Certified arborists and Tree Stewards will be on hand to offer expert guidance, planting tips, and long-term care advice.
Trees clean our air, cool our streets, calm our stress, and connect our communities. This Valentine's Day weekend, come out with your sweetie and pick up your SOILmate! (Pardon the pun, we couldn't resist ourselves.) 💘
Our tree giveaways are—and will always be—free and open to all. But if you're able, we invite you to make a suggested donation of $10 per tree to support our operations, community plantings, and tree advocacy across the Cape Fear region. Your gift helps us keep growing! 💚
