Iowa soils and waterways are under real pressure: worn topsoil, nutrient runoff, and a farm balance sheet that does not have room for theory. Regenerative practice — continuous living cover, reduced tillage, adaptive grazing, diverse rotations, biological fertility — is already working on Midwest ground. Farmers need peer learning, real numbers, and someone who writes a check. That is the room.
Soil & Water Revival Fairfield brings that room to the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center on June 3–5, 2027.
The official name and line:
Soil & Water Revival Fairfield
Healing the land, securing our water — practical regenerative solutions for Iowa.
Thursday, June 3 is not a public conference day. Afternoon is vendor load-in. Evening is a ticketed farm-to-table Meet the Speakers dinner. Ingredients come from local regenerative farms; the FACC kitchen cooks and serves. Guests sit with speakers in short rotations, then mix. It is not a reception and not a lecture.
Friday, June 4 is Conference Day 1. One-hour opening keynote in the Theater. Then three tracks all day against an open vendor hall (target 30–50 exhibitors). Friday is agronomy- and market-heavy: cover crops that fit a Jefferson County corn–soy calendar, biological soil tests, AMP grazing, who buys regen grain and livestock in 2027, talking to a lender and a landlord.
Saturday, June 5 is Conference Day 2 and the family / community day. Morning keynote. Midday hands-on: soil pit and microscope, mobile fence and water, seed-and-cover mix bar. Afternoon on the back lot: sheep care, FAMACHA, and a live shear. We end in the Theater with commitment cards and a dated follow-up field day within 60 miles.
Hosted by David Ford and Fairfield Good Earth Works. Built to complement Practical Farmers of Iowa and the Big Soil Health Event, not copy them. Southeast Iowa first, then the rest of the Midwest. National names open the morning; Iowa operators hold the rooms.
