About this Event
Join us for the opening reception of Only Lovers Left Alive. An evening to experience the collection, meet the artist, and celebrate with our vibrant creative community. Light refreshments will be served.
Only Lovers Left Alive is the first solo exhibition by New York–based sculptural jewelry studio Softnoise. Moving between art, object, and jewelry, Only Lovers Left Alive explores the traces time leaves behind.
Jewelry carries emotion. It becomes a totem of time—of encounters and re-encounters, moments passing and returning, things held onto and transformed. Softnoise reflects on past and future encounters, the stories we move through, and the deep, lasting yet fleeting emotions that remain.
Softnoise Studio is a New York City–based experimental accessories brand founded by multimedia artist and designer Chengcheng Zhao. Viewing accessories as a creative medium rather than mere adornment, the studio explores new formal languages through material, texture, and form. Rooted in experimentation, Softnoise is interested in how materials transform, how time leaves its trace, and how wearable objects can carry new aesthetic and emotional possibilities.
Chengcheng Zhao is an interdisciplinary artist and jewelry designer whose practice spans wearable art, conceptual art, and emerging technologies. Her work explores memory, time, encounters, shifting perspectives, and the multiple identities we carry within us. She is particularly interested in ephemeral and fleeting spaces that nevertheless feel deeply present.
