What can a story written nearly 3,000 years ago still teach us about ourselves? Homer’s Iliad is more than an ancient Greek epic—it is one of the foundational works upon which Western civilization, literature, and culture have been built. Yet its enduring power lies in its exploration of profoundly human struggles: pride, anger, honor, friendship, grief, mortality, and the terrible cost of war. Across the centuries, The Iliad continues to confront us with questions as urgent today as they were in ancient Greece.
You don’t need to know anything about Homer—or ancient Greek literature—to join the conversation. That’s part of the point! Whether this is your first time reading The Iliad or you’re returning to it after years, we’d love to have you join us. Just bring your questions, your curiosity, and a willingness to explore the story together.
New readers are always welcome.
