Organisations are under increasing pressure to demonstrate their contribution to society. Many businesses also recognise the value that responsible business activities bring back to their organisation, thereby mutually reinforcing the case for a strong social and environmental purpose. As a result of industry interest, we have witnessed the publication of a plethora of built environment-specific tools, frameworks, policy and thought leadership yet social value assessment continues to be complex and difficult to navigate. Join us for a full day course to discuss how the built environment industry can understand, measure, and communicate its social value. The course will cover all of the steps needed for a social value assessment, including mapping and engaging with stakeholders, setting and measuring outcomes, and applying monetary values.
It will explore the different frameworks and tools that are available, including UKGBC’s Framework for Defining Social Value. The course will be interactive, with a range of examples, discussions, and exercises.
