About this Event
If you’ve been running your business, chances are you know social media marketing is a thankless job within your job.
What should you post? How often? Does everything need to look polished? And how do you create content that actually sounds like your business instead of something copied from everyone else?
This practical, hands-on workshop will help you simplify the process.
Digital marketing strategist Ashley Rowe of The New Leaf Collective will walk you through a straightforward approach to planning and creating social media content that’s recognizable, useful and true to your business.
Rather than trying to master an elaborate content strategy, you’ll focus on three kinds of posts most small businesses can use again and again:
- Helpful content: Answer a customer question or share something useful.
- Human content: Show the people, process or everyday work behind your business.
- Action content: Promote a product, service, event or opportunity with a clear next step.
You’ll work on your own business throughout the session, applying each step as you go.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have:
- Three or four repeatable content themes for your business
- Simple guidelines for how your content should look and sound
- A realistic one-week social media plan
- Three drafted posts with clear calls to action
- Photos, simple graphics or short videos to accompany your posts
- A checklist to help keep future content authentic and recognizable
- Content saved, scheduled or ready to publish
What to bring
Bring your phone and/or laptop, along with access to the social media accounts you use for your business.
You may also want to have a few existing business photos, logos or brand materials handy—but don’t worry if you don’t have a polished library of content. That’s part of what we’ll work through.
This workshop is designed for small business owners who want a foundational, manageable approach to social media marketing. You don’t need advanced social media, photography or graphic design experience to participate.
